RE: Wrangler Drive Project (Project No. ST 96-01 )
I visited the project site this morning, per your request, to look at the progress and in
particular to look at the grading around the existing water meter vaults for the school. I was
encouraged to see that the HMAC transition pavement was being placed when I arrived
and that the concrete driveway approaches to the school looked very good. It appears that
the grading around the water meter vaults can be accomplished without constructing the
proposed modular concrete-block wall, as shown on the plans, by exposing the top 18-24
inches of the concrete vaults. I would, therefore, have no problem concurring with your
recommendation to eliminate this item of work, if Ken and Mike are also in agreement.
I would be interested in your thoughts regarding the completion of the parkway restoration
work (i.e. hydro-mulch and block sodding). Given the current water supply situation, would
it make sense to postpone this work for a month or two until better rainfall or watering
opportunities might be available? If so, there may be a need to install silt fencing in some
areas to guard against erosion in the unlikely event that we get significant rainfall before
grass is established.
Larry, I commend you for all your efforts to keep Phase 1 of the project on schedule. If
you should have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to give me a call. ·
Thanks.
