Retaining Wall
Dear Mr. Clancy:
The City of Coppell has received the referenced plans and has the following comments to offer:
1. Provide a note on the plans regarding the proposed density of the backfill. Density
requirements per the City of Coppell Subdivision Ordinance are fill material when tested
in accordance with ASTM D-698/THD T-99 shall be placed in 6 to 8 inch thick (loose)
lifts compacted to 95 % of theoretical density with a moisture content at optimum to plus
4%.
2. On sheet S2 of the plans, is Falkofske Engineering, Inc. also reviewing the gravity wall
sections?
3. There is a concern regarding construction of the wall after the alley has been paved in
regards to tearing up the alley by workers or equipment used to construct the wall. We
would prefer the wall to be constructed before the alley is paved.
4. Show the type of expansion joint material proposed for detail A on sheet S2.
There are various other minor comments throughout these plans. Once these comments have been
addressed, the revised set of plans should be resubmitted to the City for review. If you should
