on 5/14/91 and met all the air testing and deflection
requirements, per the City of Coppell
specifications.

bOW PRESSURE AIR TEST FOR GRAVITY SANITARY SEWER
TEST PROCEDURE ,;,
Each section of sewer shall be tested between successive manholes. '
Air shall be introduced into the pipeline until 4.0 psi guage pressure has been
reached at which time the flow of air s'hall be reduced and the internal air
pressure shall be maintained between 3.5 and 4.5 psi guage for at least two (2)
minutes to allow the air temperature to come to equilibrium with the temperature
of the pipe walls. Pressure in the pipeline shall be constantly monitored by
_a guage and hose arrangement seperate from the hose used to introduce air into
the line. Pressure in the pipe line shall not be allowed to exceed 5 ps'i.
After the temperature has stabilized and no air leaks at the plugs have been
found, the air pressure shall be permitted to drop and when the internal air
pressure has reached 3.5 psi guage, a stop watch or sweep second hand watch
shall be used to determine the time lapse required for the air pressure to drop
to 2.5 psi guage.
If the time lapse required for the air pressure to decrease from 3.5to 2.5 psi
exceeds that shown in the following table, the pipe shall be presumed-to be
within accepts!be limits for leakage. ~
If the time lapse is less than that shown in the table, the Contractor shall
make the necessary corrections to reduce the leakage to acceptable limits.
