GRAND LAKES ADDITION - FINAL PLAT
(Currently Villages of Coppell, Phase 4A)

This is actually little more than a request to change the name of
Villages of Coppell, to Grand Lakes Addition. Staff had informally
discussed this with the Planning Commission at the June public
hearing - under miscellaneous business - and had discouraged the
change for a variety of reasons:
1) this area of the City is commonly known as the Villages area.
2) it has had this title for many years.
3) changing it for no apparent reason - other than for the
developers identification - is not appropriate.
4) the change will result in confusion among vendors, City staff,
and the general public.
5) the name change does not lend itself well to the area - there
are no lakes on this property.
For these reasons, and the problems we experienced with the Meadows,
Section Six when it was referred to as "The Woods", staff recommends
no change in the plat title.
