Re: Cottonwood Branch Channel Improvements
Coppell, Texas
Dear Mr. Mason:
Please accept our apology for not getting back to you in a
timely manner on this project review.
We have reviewed the proposed improvements and have no
objections, but would like the following items addressed
prior to final approval.
1. Will the channel improvements be dedicated to the City of
Coppell for maintenance after construction?
2. If the easement will be dedicated, we need to have a
filed plat.
3. Provide a drainage area map and indicate anticipated
flows which may occur.
4. Has any studies or models been done to determine effects
of upstream or downstream erosion problems?
5. what will be the velocities in the proposed channel?
6. what methods were used to determine design, discharges,
and water surface profile for the project?
7. If the channel will not be dedicated to the City of
Coppell, indicate a schedule of landscape maintenance
which Owner will follow.
8. How will this channelization affect the flood plain in
the area?
9. Has an environmental impact statement been prepared?
10. Has the City of Grapevine reviewed and approved these
plans? If so, we would like to have a copy of their
approval letter.

11. The concrete pilot channel is not in accordance with City
of Coppell standard construction details. Please address.
12. A minimum of 2t freeboard is required above the design
water surface.
13. We suggest a minimum of 6' concrete for the pilot channel
in lieu of the 4' as shown.
If you have any questions, please contact us.
