I would appreciate your review and comments regarding this proposal. We have discussed
this project several times in the past. Currently, this project is funded in the city's C.I.P., at
$80,000.

Jones & Carter, Inc. appreciates. the opportunity to submit this proposal for the Design and
Construction of the above referenced project. Based upon our previous meetings and our
understanding of the scope of work, we propose to perform the following services: ~v~.i~?
l. Prepare plans for the construction of an extension of the jogging path and erosion control
measures along the drainage channel downstream of Parkway Boulevard immediately east of
the parking lot for Andy Brown East Park. Plans shall include horizontal and vertical
alignment for the path in accordance with ADA standards from the box culvert under Parkway
to the nearest point in the existing parking lot: sections. details and retaining wall design for the
path where it connects to the existing box culvert under Parkway Blvd.; sections. details and
structural design of the downstream erosion radmg plans for affected
areas of the park.
2. Prepare plans for an alternate bid to extend the jogging path to connect to the existing path
system in the park near the existing accessible parking spaces.
3. Prepare specifications and contract documents for the construction of the improvements
including general and special conditions of agreement. bond and insurance requirements, bid
tbrm. technical specifications for materials and construction techniques, and special provisions
to the coreract.
4. Assist the city in the advertisement for bids, issuance of bid documents to prospective bidders
through our office, receipt and tabulation of bids, and recommendation for the award of
contract to the City Manager / City Council.
5. Assist the City staff during construction by making periodic trips to the construction site to
observe the general progress of construction and conformance with the plans and specifications.
In addition, we shall review laboratory reports, shop drawings, pay requests and assist with the
final inspection of the project upon completion.

6. Assist the City staff with public relations activities including Park Board meetings,
presentations to City Council, and preparation of press releases if desired. ,.~
In consideration of the defined scope of work, we respectfully request flurap sum fee of $8,800.00.
This fee shall include complete design services and the delivery of plans and specifications with the
standard of care for projects of this nature and the coordination work with the Owner and associated
with the same. This agreement shall be subject to our General Conditions of Agreement and the
associated fee shall be payable on a monthly basis as determined by the overall percent complete of the
work during the previous month. Lump sum fees do not reflect the amount of any excise, VAT, gross
receipts, or sales tax that may be imposed. Said taxes shall be added to the compensation as stated in
the proposal. The attached General Conditions of Agreement, Exhibit A, shall apply to this contract as
if included verbatim herein.
The proposed fees shall be considered in their entirety for the scope of services. Should you wish to
contract with us for only a portion of the work identified, we reserve the right to negotiate individual
scope items on their own merits. This proposal shall be valid for sixty (60) days from this date and
may be extended upon approval of this office.
