Dear Mr. Earle:
In accordance with your request, we obtained a representative sample of the material
exposed at the subgrade level at the referenced project on November 19, 1996.
.Atte~lserg· Limits:test and an Eades and Grim.Lime Series test were performed on the
representative soil sample. The results of the Atterberg Limits and Lime Series. tests
are presented below:

An Eades and Grim pH and a Lime Series test were performed on this sample. The

Based on the results of the tests, we recommend that the concrete street subgrade be
stabilized with the addition of 7 percent hydrated lime (33 pounds per square yard for a
six-inch stabilized layer). The lime and the stabilization and compaction .of the
subgrade should be performed in accordance with the ap~icable City specifications.
