Dear Mr. Ratliff:
I discussed the attached letter with Mr.
Dannenbaum Engineers.
Phil Deaton of
Mr. Deaton informs that the first "check dams" were only earthen
plugs used by the contractor to keep the channel dry during
construction. The agreement with the Texas Water Commission was
to monitor the situation and construct permanent "check dams', if
required.
Mr. Deaton assured us that they have been monitoring the
situation. They will prepare the report as previously stated.
Based on his observations to date, he believes that there
probably will be a requirement for permanent "check dams" to
ensure sufficient flows in Denton Creek.
