August 7, 2000
City of Coppell - 2*d Hoot
Michael Martin, Scott Maughn, Gary Pryor, Larry Davis, Robert?? ?, 77 ? (one
other guy w/City of Coppell)
The following is our understanding of the subject matter covered during the subject meeting.
If this differs from your understanding, please notify us within five working days.
Gary has been trying to get in touch with GTE about their manholes at Eastwick and
Parkway. He says he has not gotten a returned phone call as of yet. Mike and Larry will
continue to try and get a response from GTE for the manhole information that is needed.
Gary says all inlets are poured, and the crews were out on Thursday finishing the tops of the
inlets out.
The top of the Box Culvert was poured on Wednesday, and should be finished by Tuesday,
according to Gary.
Gary says the change order for the additional rip-rap and excavating should be sent out on
Thursday, and the rock should arrive at the site on Monday or Tuesday. Also, Gary claims
the rip-rap and grout that does not rnaWh the existing rip-rap on the east side of the channel,
will be fixed when the new rip-rap is placed in the channel. The placement ~d repair should
take approximately 7 days to complete.
Mike has been getting complaints/concerns from residents around the channel about grass
replacement and the standing water in the area. Gary said this will be taken care of and dealt
with accordingly when the new rip-rap is placed.

Revised Mansion's Drive sheet seems OK. Contractor hasn't looked at in detail, though.
Tony Martin hasn't returned phone calls from Larry for information about the stampe~l
concrete. Gary knows that the stamp must meet Tony's approval in color and design.
Contractor will do traffic change-over on Aug. 15~. There will be an asphalt detour over the
box culvert, and the ramp near Mansion's will be moved to the east side of the roadway.
Robert was asked to provide a schematic drawing to Mike about the traffic switch-over.
Gary pointed out a problem with trees that are in the path of the bike trail from Minyard to
Eastwick. The trees are small crepe myrtles, and they are approximately 5' off of the wall
on the east side. Also, the trees are about 1.5' above the new curb line, and this poses a
problem if they are to be worked around. Scott and Larry went to the site on Thursday after
the meeting, and agreed the trees should be removed, or the bike trail needs to become 8'
wide, and moved to the back-of-curb. Then, the trees could possibly be saved with some
type of edging around them for the elevation difference. Mike was to go out to look at the
trees and make his assessment on Friday, This will need to be further discussed between
FNI, City of Coppell, and Ed Bell so this can be resolved.
There were two drain pipes found coming out of the wall just south of the Eastwick Drive,
which were draining to the existing wye inlet. The wye inlet has been removed, and the
pipes coming from the wall are lower than the curb elevation, so there will not be sufficient
drainage. It needs to be determined if the pipes can be tied into the new curb inlet to provide
the proper drainage.
Larry and Ken Griffin met with Mr. Wingo (property just north of the TXU sub-station) to
discuss the drive entrances to his property. It was supposedly agreed that his south entrance
will now be :22' wide with 15' radii curb-returns, and the north entrance will be 18' wide with
15' curb-returns. This change should be noted and all parties should be advised.
Mike Martin asked Robert for an anticipated project schedule that went through the estimated
completion of the project. Robert agreed to send that schedule to Mike.
