RE: Vistas of Coppell lB and 2C
Dear Mr. Poole:
Our Subdivision Regulations as adopted on April 12, 1994, Ordinance No. 94643, requires that
subgrade material with a plasticity index of less than 6 or greater than 12 be modified with a minimum
of 30 #'s per square yard of hydrated lime or cement stabilization. That same ordinance grants the City
Engineer limited authority to deviate fi.om this requirement if soil tests so indicate and an acceptable
alternative is recommended by a soils engineer.
I am in receipt ora soils test and recommendation fi.om Fuqro-McClelland (Southwest) Inc. However,
this test is insufficient to warrant a deviation fi.om our 30 #'s per square yard requirement.
I will be glad to review any additional tests and if you have any questions please feel flee to contact this
office at your convenience.

An Eades and Gdm pH and a Lime Sedes test were performed on sample #2. The
results are as follows:
0 8.00
3 11.80

Based on the results of the tests, we recommend that the concrete street subgrade be
stabilized with the addition of 6 percent hydrated lime (28 pounds per square yard for a
