RE: Warren Court/Deforest Road Asphalt 0 :lay
Staff discussed with the county the above referenced projects in an
effort to determine if the county could provide the necessary
construction activity to accomplish the asphalt overlay on Deforest
Road and the construction of an asphalt cul-de-sac on Warren Court.
The county, as of last week, reported back to staff that due to other
commitments previously planned that their time would be extremely
limited and would be. unable to assist us in either project referenced
above.
Additionally, the county has advised that they will not be able to
assist in the improvements to Bethel Road which Council authorized
on December 13, 1988. They have committed to assist in the seal coating
of Thweatt Road this Spring or early Summer between scheduled projects.
There are two alternatives, staff will have to request proposals from
our Consulting Engineer to develop specifications for the work and
then go out for bids or develop specifications inhouse which will
be extremely difficult with the current workload.
We have requested from our Consultant all information they currently
have on file concerning the Deforest Road and Warren Court projects.
Staff's field observation and reviewing the plans on file at the City
indicated there is not sufficient R.O.W. to construct a cul-de-sac
at the end of Warren Court. We hope the information that Wayne's
office can provide will give us some insight to this matter.
Since no cost will be incurred we will request our Consultant to provide
us with a cost estimate for performing the above work as it relates
to specifications only.
