Warren Addition-CS 890320March 20, 1989 TO: Alan Ratliff, City Manager FROM: Steve Goram, Director of Public Works RE: Warren Court Cul-de-sac Ginn, Inc. has provided the City with the documents they have on file in reference to the proposed cul-de-sac on Warren Court. A cost estimate of $1,250.00 for construction has also been provided. The cul-de-sac design is based on a 25' radius which is necessary to stay within the existing easements. The Subdivision Ordinance requires a minimum radius of 40' and staff has spoken with the Fire Department concerning the 25' radius which they do not support. Public Works concurs with the Fire Department and if is staff's recommendation that if a cul-de-sac is constructed on Warren Court, it is at'least 40' in radius. The asphalt design which is attached is very temporary and would create'a maintenance problem for our Street Department. Staff would further recommend that Ginn, Inc. be requested to provide engineering, specifications, inspections, and construction cost estimates for the construction of a cul-de-sac in accordance to Subdivision Specifications. This would have to include consideration for land acquisition. However, if it is Council's desire to have the cul-de-sac constructed as depicted on the attached materials, I can ascertain cost estimates from the County. If you have any questions, please let me know.
