RE: Warren Court cul-de-sac ~
The Fire Department and Building Inspections is opposed to allowing
the cul-de-sac, that is to be built for Warren Court, to be any
less than what is required by the Subdivision Ordinance. The
reason for the opposition is a concern for an adequate turn radius
for fire and other emergency apparatus. The Subdivision Ordinance
requires the radius of a cul-de-sac to be at least 40 feet.
Allowing a cul-de-sac to be constructed that is any less than 40
feet could set a serious precedent. Although it is proposed that
the cul-de-sac radius would only be temporary and would beupgraded
when development occurs within the area, past experiences indicate
that it is difficult to upgrade an existing utility once it has
been constructed.
