RE: Road Improvements, Waters Edge Subdivision
Dear Mr. Martin:
Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with me this morning. As I
advised you, I am a new resident in the Waters Edge development which is now
progressing in Phase II. At the present time, the rough grading has been completed in that
phase for a roadway which will run fi.om Sandy Lake through the new phase, connecting
to Laguna which intersects with MacArthur. I am very much concerned, as are all my
neighbors with whom I have discussed this, about the extensive amount of traffic which
we anticipate will be generated by motorists using this new roadway in an attempt to avoid
the Sandy Lake/MacArthur intersection.
The attractiveness of this development is its quiet streets where our children can
play and ride their bikes without much fear of traffic accidents. It is also enjoyable to be in
our homes without the rush of vehicles up and down the streets on a constant basis. We
are all fearful that we will lose the very amenities that attracted us here in the first place if
efforts are not made now, before problems begin, to discourage the use of our streets as
major travelling routes.
It has been my experience in my many years as counsel to developers that it is far
easier to address difficulties beforehand than it is to try and fix them at, er problems
develop and use patterns are already in place. I hope we and Mr. Griffin will have the
opportunity to meet at your earliest convenience to discuss alternatives and options.
Many thanks for all your courtesies. ·
