RE: Wrangler Drive Construction Project - ST 96-01
Dear Mr. Chovan:
This letter is written as a follow-up to a meeting we held in October 1997 discussing drainage
along the north side of Wrangler Drive as it intersects Belt Line Road. At that time, the ATT
Call Center was proposed to be built at the northwest comer of Wrangler Drive and Belt Line
Road. Because of drainage and other considerations the ATT Call Center chose to relocate to
the southwest comer of Airline Drive and Belt Line Road. However, subsequent to the meeting
there was conversation about whether or not the developers or owners of the property were
interested in participating in the construction of the drainage which will be on their property
running west to east on the north side of Wrangler Drive. I am unsure if there will be any
financial savings to the developer to participate at this time, however, we are fmalizing the
construction plans and hope to go out for bids in late March 1998 for the construction of
Wrangler Drive. If the developer wants to pursue the inclusion of that drainage system as part of
this project and pay for the same, then a completed set of construction plans for the drainage
should be provided to the City along with commitments from the developer or owner of the
property that they will fund the construction of the drainage system. As you are well aware, one
of the issues with the drainage system is the existing gas line along the north side of Wrangler
Drive. The gas line will need to be lowered to accommodate the construction of an on-site
drainage system in the future not only for the referenced site but also potentially at a drainage
stubout opposite Crestside Drive that will accommodate drainage from the property north of
Wrangler Drive.
Please contact this office to let me know your current plans for providing construction plans and
for funding the construction of the aforementioned drainage system. If you should have any
