Re: Interim Detour
Dear Mr. Collins:
We are currently working on the detours necessary to switch traffic to Stage 2. At this time the
temporary railroad crossing arm necessary to put northbound traffic on the southbound lanes has
not been installed.
To make sure that the traffic switch can proceed we would like to install a temporary detour between
Southwestern and the railroad tracks. This would put northbound traffic back on the east side of the
road where the existing railroad crossing arm is still in place. This will allow construction on the
water line and bridge demolition to proceed when the detours are installed.
Once the railroad has installed the temporary crossing arm for the northbound direction the
temporary work zone striping will be completed up to Bethel and traffic can be put fully into the
Stage 2 configuration.
Installation of this added detour would be done at no additional cost to the City of Coppell.
