Subject: RE: Freeport - Project Detours
Eric,
The City of Coppell is ok with the proposal to add the detour near Southwestern to avoid the issue with the railroad
crossing arms. We also contacted Chris Harrelson with Oncor on the illumination pole at the detour near Dividend. We
asked him if it would be possible to get the pole removed tomorrow. He will check with his crews to see if this can get
done and let Marcus know of the schedule sometime today. As soon as we hear back from Chris we will let you know. If
you have any questions please call.

Subject: Freeport - Project Detours
Kent,
We are scheduling to complete the work required to make a traffic switch by the end of next week. Part of this is
installation of the detours. At this time we have seen a response to the attached proposal to add a detour near
1
Southwestern to avoid the issue where the railroad has not installed the northbound crossing arms on the existing
southbound lanes.
Another issue has been identified at the detour near Dividend. The planned detour requires the removal of an
illumination pole that belongs to Oncor. We need Oncor to turn the power off and remove that pole (and all the other
illumination poles on the project). At this location we could move the detour about 20’ to 30’ and avoid this pole for
now.
Does the City have any issues with the proposed extra detour at Southwestern or moving the proposed detour at
Dividend?
Thanks,
Eric Giebelhaus
