Gentlemen:
Submitted here are the results of testing and observation of
construction materials at the referenced project. This report
addresses the activities for the period of March 2 through April 25,
1994.
On March 2, 1994, two soil samples of proposed imported fill were
obtained and returned to the laboratory and tested for Atterberg
Limits, [Plasticity Index (PI)]. The materials were found to have
PI's of 27 and 33.
During the period of March 15, 1994, through April 15, 1994, there
samples of imported material and a sample of the natural subgrade
were obtained and returned to the laboratory for development of
optimum moisture-density relationships (Standard Proctor Curves).
Test results are attached as Plates 1 through 4, (Curves Nos. 10
through 13).
During the period of March 15, 1994, through April 25, 1994, a total
of 53 field density tests were taken on the subgrade and natural
fills placed on the building pads and streets and utility backfill.
Test results are shown on Plates 5 through 7. Where tested,
materials were found to be in compliance with project specifications,
except as noted. Where materials were not in compliance, the soils
were reworked and retested. Test failures and retests are noted in
lower and upper case letters, respectively.
