The gaging notch of working gage should come flush with the bottom of the chamfer, and the maximum permissible variation is plus or minus one revolution of the gage. Threads shall be countersunk a distance not less than one-half of the pitch of the thread at an angle approximately 45° with the axis of the thread. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PIPE FA.BRICATORS ,. , . a WALL COLLARS All wail pipe configurations employ wall collars which may be of cast ductile iron or 7nild steel. The -,vail collar's primary function is to control seepazeit rnay also proIfe varying degrees of thrust restraint depending upon application. Cun-ently, no ANSI/AtriVA standards exist for wall pipe and sleeves. They are routinely fabricated from component material; pipe, threaded Flangescast or thread-on mechanical joint Bells, and %velcied wall collars. They may also he static cast to size with integral '.vall collars, however they are restricted in size and availability. Fabrication provides the most versatile and consistent method of producing wall pipe and sleeves in a timely manner. Fabricated wall pipe end connections conform to the same standards of the fabricated process piping being connected to it, ANSI/AV/VA C115/A21.15 (re: Section 300). However, the critical positioning of wall pipe requires the overall length tolerance be revised to -0/ -.125. It should be further noted that although flanged ends must he aligned as per the standard above, it is unnecessary to align bolt holes on mechanical joint ends. An embedded bolt holes must he tapped for studs. Tapped holes may he provided between standard cast holes where required. . 05)=41156 ' ---S-'\-- \' , , I • ) ',-'- . , ,..."
