Rocky,
During our meeting this morning we had discussions about Zayo having a contractor excavate and locate the Zayo/Level
3/Century Link utilities in three areas that our drill shafts conflict with. The first area is on the South end of the bridge
where a wing wall drill shaft is to be located. The second is where a drill shaft on abutment 1 is to be located. The third
conflict is the drill shaft on bent 2. We also discussed Zayo hiring a contractor move the Zayo/ Level 3/Century Link
utility in the area at abutment 4, on the North end of the bridge. This line needs to be relocated to avoid the drill shaft.
Zayo requested that the City of Coppell assist with the excavations in these locations by paying Texas Sterling
Contractors approximately $5,000.00 for this work. The actual amount will be determined after the work is complete
based on Time & Materials. The City of Coppell is willing to help with the excavation of the three areas under the
condition that Zayo can have a contractor on site to begin the work by Wednesday August 29, 2018 at 9AM. If Zayo can
meet this schedule, the City will direct Texas Sterling to begin the excavations in the three areas early next week. We will
need written approval from Zayo for Texas Sterling to excavate over the utilities and request that a Zayo representative
be on site during the excavation as a precaution and acceptance of the liability of work directed on behalf of Zayo.
Please let me know if Zayo is agreeable.
