The Woodridge Homeowners Association is having its Second Annual Park Party on July 22, in the park behind
Mockingbird Elementary, from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m.. WHA would like to invite all of City Staff to drop by and
join us. We had a good time last year and we think this year will be even better. Also, WHA would like to say thanks
to staff for helping WHA with the new fence along Sandy Lake. If you have not noticed the letters are installed
on the sign and the entire project is now complete. WHA has had many compliments about the fence and signage.
We always give the city credit for working with us. And the teamwork resulted is a good solution for
and for Coppell. Our current newletter is included with this letter which contains a story on the new signage.
Some serious business needs to be mention in this letter also. WHA is grateful that the Woodridge channel
has been included in the Sandy Lake upgrade but, the situation is worsening at a fast pace. Because of the many
spring rains the channel is eroding very quickly now. One resident called and said that there is a stagnant p0ol
that is over six feet deep behind their home. Children find this channel irresistible for exploring and WHA does
not feel it is a safe situation. It is also a serious eyesore for our community. Is there a way to accelerate plans to
construct the new channel, or can some sort of temporary repairs be made. 18 to 24 months is going to be tough
to wait for this project to be completed. Drive by and take a look when you have an opportunity. WHA thinks
you will agree that the channel needs attention.
