Wynnpage-CS 911016 October 16, 1991 Mr. Floyd Key, President Euless, Texas 76039 Re: Wynnpage Estates Coppell, Texas 90051-0 Dear Floyd: On Wednesday, October 9, 1991, you provided me with a trench safety plan, prepared by Louis L. Hargis, P.E., President of Geotechnique, Inc., a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. This plan was designed specifically for the use in the construction of the water, sanitary sewer, and drainage improvements within the referenced addition. Although I am not an expert in the field of geotechnical engineering, or the preparation of a trench safety plan, I do have some concern about the trench safety plan provided. It appears that this plan calls for all trenches to be "sloped back" on a minimum calculated grade. The concern I have is that there is no room along the West property line in the vicinity of line "S-I.I", between the existing sanitary sewer line and the first upstream manhole of line "S-I.i" to "slope" an open trench. As you can see on the sanitary sewer plan, this line is located in a proposed ten foot wide concrete alley which -is situated five feet away from an existing fence line. This existing fence line is not within our property and would be subjected to removal if an open trench system is used during the construction of this sanitary sewer system. Please have your Geotechnical Engineer investigate this problem before you begin constructioh of these improvements or contact each of the homeowners in this area to find out if you can remove these fences and cut a ditch w~thin their property. Based on our dealings with the existing homeowners association, I doubt very seriously that they will allow you onto their property. . Again let me ~emind you that it is very important that you follow the . trench safety plan, especially during this "rainy" part of the year. "If this plan needs to be revised, please do so before beginning construction. Sincerely, Kevin R. Kendrick, P.E.
