RE: Coppell Road Reconstruction - ST9801
Dear Mr. Weber:
Recent observations of work progress on the Coppell Road Reconstruction project
indicate that little or no work has been performed since January 18th, 2000. As you are
aware, the 12" water line installation is almost complete, with the outstanding items
being the connection to Sandy Lake Road and various ties into the new water line. These
items have been outstanding since the successful testing of the water main and need to be
completed at the earliest possible date.
Other work available on Coppell Road includes paving and drainage construction
on the east-west section from SH 121 to The Mansions apartments. Coppell City Council
t
approved closure of this section of Coppell Road dttring the December 14 h, 1999 Council
meeting. As you are aware, the road closure was approved to begin in January and last
approximately eight weeks. This work is apparently clear from utility conflicts and
should have begun already.
On several occasions, Ed Bell Construction has requested a suspension or
extension of time charged. These requests have been addressed in a previous letter. It is
the City's desire for this project to proceed and be completed in an expedited manner.
Please provide an updated work schedule for the remaining construction at your earliest
convenience.
If you have any questions or concems regarding this letter, please contact me at

Respectfully,
Kent M. Collins, P.E.
