NOTES
1. APAI presented draft results for the wastewater collection system and the City made the following comments:
a. F: Number of Work Orders
i. The City was surprised to see so many work orders along Terrace St. in the northwest corner of
the City and along Saratoga Way in the southeastern corner of the City since this these are new
developments. APAI will evaluate these work orders and see if any need to be removed.
b. G: Number of SSOs
i. The City was surprised to see many SSOs recorded along Southwestern Blvd near the Fire
Station. APAI to review these SSO work orders and see if any need to be removed.
c. I: Infiltration and Inflow
i. The City has resolved a couple I&I issues since the 2015 I&I report was completed. The subbasin
where the Sandy Lake Lift Station is located was previously identified as a high I&I basin. The City
resolved an issue in the basin and requested that it be changed from “red” to “yellow” indicating
only moderate I&I issues. Additionally, the City recently rehabilitated the 30” interceptor along
Cottonwood Branch from the Coppell High School Tennis Center to Crooked Tree Ct. using CIPP
methods. This subbasin will also be changed from “red” to “yellow.”
2. APAI presented draft results for the water distribution system and the City made the following comments:
a. C: Material
i. The City identified a number of pipelines that are recorded in the GIS records as being PVC, but
they are actually ductile iron. APAI will change these pipes to be DI. This area is bounded by the
following four streets: Sandy Lake Rd, Mockingbird Ln, Falcon Ln, MacArthur Blvd.
b. E: Modeled Pressure
i. The City receives more high pressure complaints than low pressure complaints. APAI will change
the model scenario to be an average day rather than maximum day. APAI will give any pipe with
pressure greater than 80 psi a score of 7 and a score of 1 to all pipes below 80 psi.
3. The City would like to see a distribution of the risk scores. APAI to make these figures and send to the City.
4. Currently, the LOF and COF are equally weighted in the overall risk score. The City may want to give more weight
to LOF. APAI will give the City a range of three weighting combinations (50/50, 60/40, and 70/30) and have the
City decide which weighting they would prefer.
5. It was discussed that in general, the City collection/distribution systems are in good condition due to their relatively
young age. The risk scoring color scheme may need to be revised to make it clear to the public and City Council
that the systems are in relatively good condition.
ACTION ITEMS WHO WHEN
1. Revise I&I basin scores, pipe material from PVC to DI near Sandy Lake LS. Assign
APAI 3/29
LOF a higher weight than COF.
