Sorry for the confusion Scott – let me clarify:
The total paving contact is 688,873. However, the Decel lanes and paving within TxDOT ROW is 39,059. Excluding the
TxDOT paving work, the total should be 649,814 – so I believe we’re good there.
The public storm that is referenced is for the work within TxDOT ROW. We’re connecting to the TxDOT storm system, so
the “public storm” numbers have been excluded from City inspection.
Please give me a call to discuss if needed.

Sorry for the delay, but we now know that fire lanes on private property are considered private for
the purpose of calculating inspection fees.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Exclude TxDOT. Include fire lanes, we inspect due to fire code.

Sorry, also to follow up – We understand the public vs. private on the utilities, but with regards to paving – Are the fire
lanes considered public? I’m assuming the sidewalk along the frontage is public, but not sure about the fire lane.

Can you confirm for me that all of the work proposed within TxDOT right‐of‐way should be omitted from the inspection
fees paid to the City, since the work will be inspected by TxDOT?

Jared,
Upon further review, there are two items that need to be addressed. The public improvements (4%
inspection fee) have been included with the private improvements (2% inspection fee). Please
calculate them separately and revise the inspection fee total.
Also, on page 1 of the permit application, the construction “type” is checked as Residential, but is
actually Non-Residential.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Jared,
In order to issue the Construction Development permit, we will need the following:
1. City approval of plans – Approved
2. Construction Development Permit Application
http://www.coppelltx.gov/Documents/Government/Engineering/Building%20Inspections/ENG‐
ConstructionDevelopmentFillable.pdf,
a. Calculation of Inspection fees (2% for private, 4% for public), provide contract backup of costs.
b. Schedule pre‐construction meeting, call 972‐304‐3679.
3. Submit full sets of plans for City stamp approval 2 days prior to the pre‐construction meeting. City needs 3 full
size and one PDf and CAD of all Civil plans. Submit however many your contractor will need as they must have
approved set during construction.
4. Hold the pre‐construction meeting with Engineer of record, contractor, subs at our office
5. Pay fees at pre‐con
6. Issue the permit at the pre‐construction meeting
Thank You, Scott
