Dear Mr. Phillips:
In accordance with your request, we obtained a representative sample of the matedal
exposed at the subgrade level at the referenced project on February 18, 1999.
Atterberg Limits test and an Eades and Gdm Lime Sedes test were performed on the
representative soil sample. The results of the Atterberg Limits and Lime Sedes tests

Based on the results of the tests, we recommend that the concrete street subgrade be
stabilized with the addition of 6 percent hydrated lime (28 pounds per square yard for a
six-inch stabilized layer). The lime and the stabilization and compaction of the subgrade
should be performed in accordance with the applicable City specifications.
