Martin, P.E. ¢; P,~ ~ ' TITLE: Assistant City Engineer STAFF RECOMMENDS: APPROVAL STAFF COMMENTS: During the construction of the first phase of Wrangler Drive it became apparent that a portion of an existing 12" water line on the south side of Wrangler Drive was located too close to the concrete paving with less than minimal coverage. Approximately 954 linear feet of the 12" water line, which staff is recommending be relocated, crosses the front of the Coppell Middle School West property. With the relocation, an additional water valve will be installed to allow the City in the future to take down a portion of the water line. This proposed water line relocation would require work beyond the original scope of work, resulting in the adjustments contained in Change Order #1. Staff recommends approval of Change Order #1 in the amount of $46,794.00 and will be available to answer any questions at the Council meeting. BUDGET AMT. $ AMT. In order to insure the future integrity of this water main, it needs to be relocated and adjusted. Director of Engineering and Public Works City of Coppell PO Box 478 Coppell, Texas 75019 RE: Dedication of Freeport Parkway and Wrangler Drive Dear Ken: Attached are executed Special Warranty Deeds covering the conveyance of Freeport Parkway and Wrangler Drive. Also, we have included an Exhibit "B" to the deeds relative to exceptions to title and have made reference to same in the body of the deeds. In reviewing the deeds, our attorney wanted to make it clear that in accepting the deeds, the city is taking over maintenance, etc. In lieu of changing the deeds he suggested we simply have a letter agreement for the City's signature when accepting the deeds. Accordingly, please also find enclosed two letter agreements, in duplicate, for the City's review and signature. If all is in order, please return one fully executed letter agreement for each conveyance. I would also appreciate a copy of the fully recorded deeds when available. I have received a letter from, presumably, your office requesting Catellus acknowledge the cost sharing arrangement between Catellus and PacTrust relative to the Wrangler Drive construction. Accordingly, please accept this letter as Catellus' agreement with the method of cost sharing calculation for the Wrangler Drive improvements. Catellus further understands that the estimated cost to Catellus of $224,582 is an estimate and is subject to adjustment depending on the outcome of the bidding process, but in no event will the prorata cost to Catellus exceed $260,000. I appreciate your help in getting the Freeport Parkway matter brought to a close and should you have any questions concerning the above, please do not hesitate to give me a call.
