RE: Discussion and consideration of authorizing the City Engineer to begin
negotiations with a consultant to provide services for the design of Wrangler
Drive from Belt Line Road to Freeport Parkway.
Date: March 18, 1996
On February 27, 1996 information was provided to Council on a timeline to begin the
construction of Wrangler Drive. There was some discussion in the Work Session about the
priority of this project and where the necessary funds would come from. However, my
understanding of the direction at the Work Session was to proceed with the project. Therefore,
this agenda item is brought forth to gain Council approval to begin negotiations with a consultant
to provide the design services for the construction of Wrangler Drive and the associated water
and drainage improvements from Belt Line Road to Freeport Parkway. It is anticipated that
the design contract could be in the neighborhood of $100,000. Once the details of the contract
have been negotiated, an additional agenda item will be brought forth to award the contract and
appropriate the necessary funds to design the project.
