Services: Structural steel inspection.
On this date, an HBC Engineering representative arrived at the above referenced
jobsite as scheduled for structural steel inspection. A visual inspection was
conducted as noted below.
HBC was requested to perform an initial roof truss member
weld inspection on the first truss splice welds, both the
top and bottom chord members. It was found that the steel
erector had just completed the near side welding and that
they would have to stand the truss up to a vertical plane
to complete the far side welding. The weld quality on the
near side was determined to be compliant. EBC will also
test this and all full penetration welds on the four truss
members which span across the indoor pool area. A review
of the welder qualification papers was performed on the two
welders making these welds. Qualifications were determined
to be compliant.
