Subject: Road debris at the entrance to The Vistas ofCoppell offofFM 553 and
Lyndsie Drive...
Dear Mr. Griffin:
Attached is this letter and a copy of one I sent to the office of Ken Griffin-City of Coppell
Engineer dated I 1-12-2001. I must say I am not happy with the response from Mr.
Griffin's office!
After talking with Glen Hollowell in the Streets Department with The City of Coppcll, I
was told that Thc City of Coppell does not have a "street sweeper" or any regular
schedule to clean up the entrance to my su'eet, Lyndsic Drive, offofFM 553. Glen said
that he was out to look at Lyndsie Drive and saw only small rocks and pebbles. I
disagree! There are not only small rocks and stones, there are nails and pieces of metal
thrown up onto the street/curb entrance to The Vistas of Coppell on Lyndsie Drive.
These nails and pieces of metal are potential hazards to not only my car but other cars
traveling in and out of our entrance on Lyndsie Drive. TlxLq debris is most likely thrown
there by thc speeding traffic passing on FM 553. Since The Vistas of Coppcll is "tmique"
in Coppell in that it is the only subdivision that has the major volume and speed of tra.ffic
flow past it...speeds averaging 60+ miles per hour...l think that it deserves increased
attention by The City of Coppell streets depattmcnt to keep it clean.
I look forward to your response to tl'tis letter in the very near future.
Fridl
