Biren,
Yes, landscaping that does not impact the City infrastructure or the City's use of the easement may
be placed in the easement area, but it could be subject to removal without replacement at some
point in the future if the City needs to complete work in the easement.
Thank you,

Hi Cole!
Thanks for taking the time yesterday to speak with me and thanks for the city of Coppell for actively
doing research on this matter for the past week.
2
Please let me know if this is good for you.
The following is a summary of our conversation yesterday. I called to inquire about the water
easement on property 109 South Moore, which we would like to purchase and make our home.
There is a water easement along the front yard. We would like to put some privacy hedges
(landscaping) along the sidewalk. Our neighbors (house closest to intersection) have already installed
them on their front lawn so there is precedence. Our reasons are numerous. It is a major
intersection and a noisy street, especially in the mornings. We also anticipate future construction
across the street.
I called the city of Coppell to see if there was any issues with installing landscaping and privacy
hedges. We could not find anything in the city ordinances to prevent it. But I wanted to do due
diligence. We agreed that they are allowable as they beautify the area and make it greener.
We will not restrict any access to city workers. Our driveway will always be open for them to use and
access all along the easement and they will be allowed to do their work whenever they would like.
If at any time, the hedges need to be removed or are damaged because of maintenance work, we
will be happy to replace them. We will not ask the city of Coppell or its workers to pay for any
landscaping care.
Much thanks,
Biren Patel
