ST9401WA-CS 960916DATE: TO: FROM: RE: 9-16-96 COPPELL ENGINEERING MEMORANDOM Ken Griffin , City Engineer Per Birdsall , Sign / Signal Technician Sign Damage - N. Denton Tap Rd. It is apparent that a couple of signs were removed due to the waterline project on N. Denton Tap Rd.. They were a warning sign (divided roadway ahead) and a speed limit sign (40 m.p.h.). I never knew the signs had been removed until P.D. made a request for replacment I looked for the signs but did not find them . The warning sign was later found by the r.o.w. mower (hit) in tall grass The speed limit sign is still m.i.a.. Niether installation was salvagable . We need to recover the cost of these installations . They were $65.12 and $63.54 plus 2 hours labor @ $16.00/hr for a total of $160.66 . We also need to make it a part of all preconstruction meetings that all signs will be removed in good condition and delivered to the Service Center and temporary signs will be placed in their stead if they are warning or regulatory in nature . Your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated . cc. Matt Cast , Superintendent Public Services
