J.C. Evans asked us to review the work in progress on the water line crossing at the
existing bridge- Martin Ledford our structural consultant reviewed the work. Martin
noted that there was a splice in the beam at the center of the span- i overlooked the
splice in the shop drawing review. Martin indicated that the beam would need to be
stiflened by a welded plate splice at the center connection. Attached is a copy of the
splice detail prepared by Martin. He delivered a copy to the contractor. Please note
the detail attached and forward copies to the inspectors. Please call me if you have
any questions.
