ST9401WA-CS 960501MEMORANDUM
TO: Mike Marttn
FROM: Ulys Lane
DATE: May 1, 1996
SUBJECT: Denton Tap Road; Coppall, Texas
W&A NO.; 94093
Attached is a copy of a portion of the proposed GTE duct relocation plans. The plans
are not real detailed so we cannot confirm the exact proposed duct location. It is clear
the proposed relocated alignment along Denton Tap Road is planned to be behind the
curb and in back of the proposed inlets which is identically the location planned for the
16" water line. We suggest you discuss the location with GTE and ask them to move
their alignment. One or the other of the lines needs to be either moved closer to the
future edge of R.O.W, (which will require an easement from the private property owner)
or placed under the future pavement. An alternate would be to place both lines back of
curb and have one line go under the inlets and be approximateJy 2' to 4' back of curb,
Along the north and south slcle of the 121 Bypass the GTE ctuct is planned to be 5'
inside of the R.O.W. which is almost the same location we planned to place the future
water tine which is 7.5' inside the R.O.W. The state limits the width typically to about
10' along the inside of the R.O.W, where public utilities can be installecl.
I believe GTE is building the duct system now. The locations need to be addressed
Immediately. If the plans by GTE proceed to installation we will have to re-design the
water line alignment and issue another change request with the contractor. Worst case
the water Jine will end up under the future pavement.
