Dear Mr. Lane:
I have reviewed the water line plans for the project listed above
in regard to its impact on the GTE bridge attachment.
Although it would be possible to adjust the bends in our conduits
at the bridge ends in order to avoid the abutment extensions, we
believe it would be better to place new ducts in approximately
the alignment you marked on Sheet 1 of 1, Proposed Bridge Layout,
under the creek. This is primarily because it appears the reroute
would be a more permanent solution.
We are currently engineering plans to do this work, but due to
the permits to be obtained, the difficulty of the proposed bore
and the sensitivity of the interoffice fiber cable which runs
through this route, I believe our earliest possible date to be
clear of the City's proposed work will be on or about May 1, 1996.
This is also contingent on having access to the area shown as
future right-of-way on both sides of the bridge no later than
mid-February. Please let me know when the City will have this
right-of-way acquired.
