On October 22 I attended a SH 121 Task Force meeting concerning the status of the project.
Several interesting pieces of information were provided:
I. 'The section of SH 121 between the cities of Coppell and Grapevine was elevated to a Priority
1 in July 2001 by the Texas Transportation Commission. However, TxDOT is still working
on several issues with the project such as some discrepancies in the traffic counts and the
environmental assessment. The Priority 1 status necessitates the beginning of the City of
Coppell's annual contribution toward the construction.
2. The overall project is ahead of schedule and as such, the portion of SH 121 from the split of
the bypass from Business 121 up to Lake Vista Drive is set to begin construction in late 2002.
This will be the first section to be constructed and will include the overpasses at Denton Tap
and at MacArthur.
With this memo I am including the latest project schedule from the consultant on this project. If
