WA 97-01 Denton Tap Road Water Line (Bethel Road to Airline Drive)
Dear Mr. Hartman:
The Water Distribution System Master Plan for the City of Coppell determined that a new water
main needs to be constructed along Denton Tap Road (Bethel Road to Airline Drive) in order to
correct current system deficiencies and to serve future commercial and industrial needs. The
project is recommended for funding in fiscal year 2001/2002.
The proposed project will consist of the installation of approximately 4050 linear feet of 16-inch
water line and related appurtenances. Water main sizes to serve the year 2014 were used for
capital improvement planning.
Enclosed is a General Scope of Services, which outlines the information to be submitted, the
evaluation criteria, and the general scope of work for the design of the project. No costing
information should be provided relative to the submittal of qualifications. Also enclosed is a
location map for the project and an exhibit showing the location of the proposed 16-inch water
line. If your firm is interested in pursuing the project, please provide five copies of your
qualifications no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 28, 2002.
Once the qualifications have been received, the City will review them during the first two weeks
in February 2002 and select a firm. It is anticipated that a design contract could be awarded for
the project during the March 12, 2002 City Council meeting.

The City of Coppell is seeking qualifications for engineering design associated with:

Qualification information should contain, but not be limited to, the following
information:

A general overview of the project as you would approach the design.
The related experience of your firm and also the specific experience of personnel
that will be assigned to the project.
A management plan, including identification of the project manager and key
personnel assigned to the project. Background information on the people that will
be working on the project should be included.
A list and status of all current activity or recently completed activity within the
City of Coppell. The list should include all public or private work. If there are
no recent projects please include the last public or private project your firm has
completed within Coppell regardless of when it was designed.
