RE: Sandy Lake Road (Kimbel Kourt to East City Limits) ST93-01
Dear Mr. Denton:
Dallas County Public Works is designing construction plans for Sandy Lake Road, from
east of Kimbel Kourt to immediately west of the City of Coppell / City of Dallas Line.
Coppell is currently acquiring the right-of-way and will manage construction of the
project. The project will affect an area larger than five acres and we are requesting your
review and approval as required by the Texas Antiquities Code. Enclosed please find a
set of half-scale plans for the proposed construction.
The project is located in the Carrollton Quadrangle and will consist of the reconstruction
of the existing two-lane asphalt road to a four-lane divided boulevard with improved
drainage. The centerline elevation of the existing road is being raised approximately five
feet, which will result in 68,600+ cubic yards of embankment being placed within the
right-of-way and adjoining slope easements. Plans should be complete by the end of the
year and it is anticipated that construction will start in early 2002.
