Box 734 Coppell, TX 75019 FILE COPy First United Methodist Church New Parking Lot - NW Comer of Bethel School & Heartz Road Dear Mr. Royal: The Engineering and Planning Departments have reviewed your proposal to modify the sidewalk connection from your parking lot to Heartz Road in association with your parking area expansion project. The changes are acceptable as presented. Combining the two sidewalk approaches to Heartz Road will direct pedestrian traffic to a single crossing area in front of the main entrance to the chumh. It is our understanding that the slope of the sidewalk from the parking area to the street will also be somewhat reduced. These modifications may improve safety for those choosing to cross mid-block rather than utilizing the intersection crosswalks at Heartz/Bethel School Road and Heartz/VanBebber Drive. Please contact the Construction Inspector, Larry Davis, at 972-304-3684 prior to constructing the changes. If you have any questions, you may contact the Engineering Department at 973-304- 3679. Box 478 Coppell, Texas 75019 REz First United Methodist Church New Parking Lot - NV~ Comer of Bethel School & Heartz Dear Ken: We respectfully request the following revisions to our sidewalks at the new parking lot for the First United Methodist Church of Coppell. ltem# 1: Double walk fxom the parking lot east side going to Heartz and toward our main sanctuary entrance. Reference 8-1/2" x 11" drawing attached, both existing sheet 1 and proposed sheet 2. Basically we are keeping the same concrete sidewalk layout that was existing to our prior grass parking lot. However, our new layout would center the curb cut on Heartz, and allow for only a 1.25' grade change from Heartz into the parking lot. Item #2: Our irrigation water meter along Bethel Road conflicts with the proposed sidewalk layout. The existing meter sits outside of the R. OW. I have spoken with Larry Davis on this and the Church requests we be allowed to swing our sidewalk closer toward Bethel to miss the meter. We agree to move this meter into the R.O.W. when we build the proposed Family Life Center, and realign the sidewalk if so needed. If approved, these will be incorporated into our As Builts to the City ficom Dowdy Anderson Engineers. Thank you in advance for your review of these requests.
