Mr. Ken Griffin, P.E.
Director of Engineering/Public Works
City of Coppell
P.O. Box 478
Coppell, Texas 75019
Dear Mr. Griffin:
During the paving improvemenls to Sandy Lake Road in your city, the question was
raised as to whether the 4" standby metering vault, at the corner of Sandy Lake and
Denton Tap, was still a necessary connection to Coppell's distribution system.
Although it seems Wholesale Services has never received any direct correspondence
from Coppell regarding this connection, it has been assumed through e-mail
correspondence from DWU's project manager that this vault was indeed no longer a
viable connection between Dallas and Coppell (copy attached).
According to DWU's project manager, the 4" standby meter was removed on
September 10th. The vault abandonment should have been completed per DWU
standards during late October 2001.
The City of Coppell was being billed a monthly standby metering fee of $53.80 on
account no. 221-1100926. Due to the meter being pulled in September, please
consider this account closed and inactive as of the close of the previous month's
(August) billing period. And according to our records, August was the payment made
on this account; therefore this account was balanced prior to being inactivated.
We would appreciate your informing the appropriate staff at TRA of these events and-~
the transactions regarding the accounts. If you have any questions, please call me or/~
Tonia at 214/670-5886.
Sincerely,
Randy Stalnaker
