The meeting is tomorrow at 10:00. I had changed it, but then found out that
Larry was going to be here and moved it back to Thursday.

ISI claimed that the Unclassified Roadway Excavation (Bid Item No. 102) was
too Iow. We have 6500 CY shown and they calculated closer to 12,500 cubic
yards. They had provided me with cut sheets to back up their claim and I
finally got around to checking it. This is going to result in a $6,000
increase for Bid Item No. 102.
I talked to Philip this afternoon regarding the fence. If you remember we
discussed the existing fence adjacent to the warehouses at our last Thursday
meeting. At that meeting ISl was instructed to maintain the existing fence,
so we agreed to move the proposed water line location 1 foot closer to the
road to avoid getting into the fence. We met out there again on the
following Monday and ISI was told, at that time, that the existing fence and
the remaining trees adjacent to the warehouses needed to be removed. They
feel like they put a lot of time an effort into trying to maintain the fence
and that their contractor responsible for right-of-way preparation and
removal has already left the sight. They say that they are going to incur
extra costs to haul away the remaining trees and fence that they made an
effort to preserve. I told Philip he should put together a letter and send
it to the city if he wants to ask for compensation. I guess we can discuss
it at our meeting on Friday.

What is the number that they provided and your rough calculations agreed
with. I received a letter from Phillip stating that the clearing of the
wire fence with wooden posts and the trees was not in the scope of the
contract. They will request additional compensation.

Suzan,
I finally got a chance to take a look at the cut numbers that ISI provided
on the earthwork for Creekview Drive. I also looked at the plans and did
some rough calculations and it appears as though ISI is correct in their
estimate of the total Unclassified Roadway Excavation. It appears that
somewhere along the line we had a bust in our earthwork calculations. We
calculated the total excavation based on the cut numbers that ISI provided
to us and their number was very similar to the rough numbers that we
calculated.
