Dear Mr. Griffin:
I have two (2) problems that I would like to bring to your
attention and eee what the city can do to help me out.
1) The drainage in our community is such that all the water
wlthin several blocks of my home draln to a drainage dltch
that runs along slde my home. The problem ls that all the
water dralns under driveways in the community and as the
driveways get closer to my home the culverts under the
driveways get smaller and the water ends up jumping the
streets and twice water has risen high enough on the left
side of my home that I have had to replace water damaged
carpet pad.
2) The drainage ditch on the right side of my home has had
a continual problem for me and I thlnk there are a couple
thlngs we could do to solve these problems. First, I would
like to extend the culvert that goes under Meadow Creek,
about sixty (68) more feet. Right now all the water comes
crashing over the culvert at this point. Second, I would
11ke to wlden this dltch to about elght (8) to ten (18) feet
to where it enters Grapevine Creek. We have lost so much
soil that the drainage ditch is now four (4) feet deeper in
some areas than it was two (2) years ago. If we can widen
this ditch and bring up the level I believe it will take care
of moet of the problem. I am willing to work with you on any
of these problems so that once we get the problems flxed, I
san maintain the ettuation but right now the problem is too
overwhelming for me to handle or get to a point where I can
maintain it.
Thank you.
