MA 9601 Deforest-CS 910226 MEMO
TO: Alan D. Rat!iff, City Manager
FROM:.~"~. 'Gary L. Sieb, Director of Planning & Community Services
SUB3ECT.: DEFOREST ROAD ALIGNMENT
DATE: February 26, 1991
Approximately two weeks ago, Councilman Weaver asked staff to attempt a
realignment of DeForest Road with MacArthur Boulevard, to assure a 90
degree intersection.
The attached drawing shows the final plat alignment before the City
acquired the Creek Bend Estates parcel. We subsequently purchased this
tract, and the dashed lines indicate a revised DeForest Road realignment
which the developer of this subdivision now proposes.
Because density, street patterns, and all other conditions of the P.D.
zoning on this parcel remain intact, and because this realignment reduces
a potential safety problem with the intersection, I propose to take this
revision to Council on March 12, as a consent agenda item. My proposal is
conditioned, of course, on the presumption that no negative comments are
forth-coming from any of the affected reviewing agencies.
