Creekview Drive & Freeport Parkway
ST 00-01
Februa~ 14, 2002 Site Meeting
The biweekly site meeting was held on the above referenced project. Below is a summary of the
items discussed:
Those in attendance were:
* Larry Davis - City of Coppell
Chris Schnitger - Schrickel Rollins & Associates
· Dennis Hammock - ISI
· Billy Wisenhunt - ISI
· Robert Butler - Butler Electric
2. Overall Project Schedule:
· ISI provided an updated schedule dated February 14.
On-going Construction:
· Contractor is continuing the installation of the storm drain and junction boxes.
· Paving and lime stabilizing Freeport Parkway on the east side at Ruby Road.
· Detour constructed at Ruby Road.
4. Ruby Road:
· Larry Davis requested SRA to determine whether the transition on Ruby Road could
be shortened by 20 feet.
· Larry Davis requested SRA to determine whether the island separating the dedicated
right turn lane could be modified. Larry wants the 6-inch curb to be removed and the
island designed with pavemem buttons. * SRA will need to address by Monday, Feb.
18t~ because the contractor will start paving on Feb. 20t~.
· Larry Davis requested ISI to modify the material used for the detour because it is not.
stable under wet conditions, *Billy Wisenhunt agreed to modify on Feb. 15t~.
5. TXU:
· TXU has completed adjusting the two existing underground conduits and relocated the
existing power pole at the intersection of Ruby Road and State/Freeport Parkway.

TXU has not completed the adjustment of the underground conduit at the intersection
of Creekview Drive and Freeport Parkway.
Traffic Control:
· ISI requested that they be allowed to maintain two-way traffic on the northbound
lanes of Freeport Parkway (from the WWP entrance south to the next crossover -
+~2000 feet) upon completion of the Ruby Road and Freeport Parkway intersection.
· The existing Freeport Parkway southbound lanes in this +~2000 feet will be used as a
staging area and tie-in.
· Larry Davis told ISI that they would need to submit a Traffic Control Plan.
Sidewalks - Wagon Wheel Park Phase III:
· SRA met with Leisure Services on Feb. 8 concerning the design of the sidewalks
along the north side of Creekview Drive. The sidewalks are being coordinated with
the design of WWP Phase III.
· SRA. will provide the sidewalk plans to Engineering for review and comments.
* The sidewalk will be placed adjacent to Creekview Drive from the intersection of
Freeport Parkway and Creekview Drive westward to the gap between the berms at
approximate Station 25+49. The sidewalk along Creekview Drive will then turn
northward and tie into an internal sidewalk within the WWP.
· Lany Davis pointed out that some slope issues in this area might require that a
retaining wall be constructed.
· The stockpile is still an issue.
· From the west end of the stockpile (Station 15+50+_) westward to the existing
paving on Creekview Drive, the sidewalk is proposed to be adjacent to the curb~
Larry Davis would prefer the sidewalk to be two feet offofthe curb.
· There may be slope and space issues with the proposed sidewalk and safety rail
between the area of the recessed inlet at Station 3+81+_. There may be slope issues
with the proposed sidewalk and safety rail in the area of the gabion walls. The face
of the gabions may be exposed.
· Additional excavation of the sub-grade (from the gabion walls westward) will be
needed in order to match the proposed sidewalk to the existing ADA ramp in the
industrial park.
· Additional excavation of the sub-grade (+_3 feet) will be needed (from the gabion
walls eastward +_800 feet) in order to construct the sidewalk on the proper grades.
Existing Tree at Station 3+50
· The contractor moved the existing tree out of the way of construction. The tree was
then replanted using chains. The chains cut the tree bark all the way around the tree.
It is doubtful the tree will live.
