Northpoint Dr-LR020323AMERICAN REHAB AND INSPECTIONS, INC. (214) 536-2915" LOW PRESSURE AIR TEST FOR GRAVITY SANITARY SEWER Each s~tion of sewer shall bo ~ested between successive manholes. Air shall bo introduced into the pipeline until 4.0 psi gauge pressure has been reached. At that thee the flow of air sbell be reduc.~d and the internal air pressure shall be maintained between 3.$ and 4.5 psi gauge for at least two (2) minutes to allow the air temperature to come to equilibrium with the temperature of the pipe walls. Pressure in the pipe shall be constantly monitored by a gauge and hose arrangement separate from the hose used to introduce air into the line. Pressure in the pipe shall not bo allowed to cxc~d $ psi. At~r th; temperature has stabilized and no air leaks at thc plugs have been found, the air pressure shall be used to determine the time lapse re4uired for. the air pressure to drop to 2.5 psi gauge. If the time lapse required for the air pressure to decrease from 3.5 to 2.$ psi exceeds that shown in the following table, the pipe shall be presumed to bo within acceptable limits for leakaga. If thc time lapsed is less than that shown in the table, the conlractor shall make corrections to reduce the leakage to ac, ceptable limits.
