I am in receipt of your correspondence dated March 19, 2002 adv/sing me of an alleged
requirement to purchase additional flood insurance on my property located at 1048 Creek
Crossing in Coppell, Texas.
Please be advised of the following:
I already had flood insurance on the referenced property in an amount
commensurate with it~ aema~ flood zone status;
Many of my neighbors had received similar notices only to find that the
FI/MA map you had referenced in your correspondence was revised in error
and has in fact been corrected to reflect that our property is not in a special
flood zone;
I will contact FEMA to ascertain that our property in fact is not in the special
flood zone and therefore sustain that supplemental flood insurance is not
required; and
I have instructed my S~ate Farm insurance, Mike McKay, to provide increased
coverage in our flood insurance (in addition to the $250,000 already in force)
iN the event that we are unable to ascertain that the subject property is oct in
a specialflood zone by your stated deadline of,4pril 2, 2002; please provide
Mr. Mc. Kay with our current out~anding principal loan balance so he can
arrange for supplemental coverage if necessary; it is my understanding that
you have already been in conta~ with his office.
