Re: HRWS Tract, Coppell, Texas
Dear Mr. Rogers:
It is our understanding that there are some concerns as to the status of
HRWS tract, because the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) maps
for the City of Coppell show the property to be in the floodway of the Elm
Fork Trinity River.
Enclosed is a copy of the portion of the maps submitted by the City to
?EMA for revision of the FEMA maps for the Elm Fork. This map shows a
portion of the HRWS tract to be in an ineffective flow area, i.e. not in
the floodway.
The City approved this revision and submitted it to FEMA July 3, 1990.
FEMA has also agreed to the revision in writing (see attached letter).
However, as indicated in the attached letter, the FEMA maps will not
physically be revised until the end of September, 1991.
This letter should serve as notice that the City agrees that a portion of
the HRWS Tract is not in the floodway and can be developed provided it
meets the City of Coppell's ordinances, and any applicable state and
federal regulations.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
M. Shohre Daneshmand, P.E.
Acting City Engineer
