Glenn was recently contacted by citizens along Winding Hollow concerning a tree that had fallen
into the Cottonwood Creek Branch. Upon investigation, it was determined that the tree was
impacting the flow of water causing substantial erosion to an outfall headwall. Because of the
ongoing damage to the headwall we need to remove the tree from the creek.
This memo is written to alert you that City crews will be cutting up the tree and removing it from
the creek area. Obviously, our standard position is that tree removal is not a City responsibility.
However, because this tree is causing damage to a City maintained drainage structure it is our
opinion that it does need to be removed. I have attached several photographs showing the extent of
the damage up to this point.
If you have any questions please give me a call.
