ST9401-CS 990301North & south bound traffic on Denton Tap Road, north of parkway Blvd. will be
detoured from the old pavement and bridge to the new pavement and bridge early
Saturday morning, March 6. The detour will consist of one lane in each direction until
the completion of the east bridge in summer 1999.
The Demon Tap Road project includes the construction of a bridge and the widening of
the roadway to 3 lanes each direction. The new bridge and roadway will help the
north/south traffic flow when completed.
In conjunction with the road improvements, Andy Brown Community Park West will
receive a new trail system over and under the bridge. This trail system will allow bike &
pedestrian traffic to access the City parks without crossing the roadway.

Subject: Denton Tap Road
I wanted to let you know that the contractor who is reconstructing Denton Tap Road is expected to shift
traffic over from the old pavement and bridge to the new pavement and bridge this weekend (probably
Sunday evening) in time for morning traffic on Monday, March 8. There will still be one lane each direction
but at least it will be on an improved roadway. Northbound traffic will be transitioned to the west side (the
future southbound lanes), south of the new bridge. Then the northbound traffic will be transitioned back
over to the northbound lane of Denton Tap Road just south of the frontage road for S.H. 121 Bypass.
