an
HBC
Engineering
drilled pier observation. After unsuccessful attempts to drill piers~rn Lot ~¢1~,.~e pier drilling
operation was cancelled. The pier drillers were unable to drill the~lia,r,~the two (2) options
provided by the structural engineer on the plans. The materials were too soft to bell the piers at
13 feet below the surface and unable to maintain a clean hole by drilling to the gray shale. HBC's
project manager, Hussein Abusaad, informed the structural en~eer of the situation.

Services: Drilled pier observation.
On this date, an HBC Engineering engineer arrived at the above referenced jobsite to observe the
pier drilling operation. The pier drilling operation was cancelled after attempts to drill holes in
accordance with the approved plans failed. Mr. Brian Powell with HBC Engineering's Geotechnical
Department, the structural engineer and HBC's client, Mr. Dean Trudell were informed of the
situation.
